Furnace Repairs are quick and easy

Furnace not working? Don't worry, we won't leave you on your own. Furnace repair can be simple if you know what you're doing, so we'll give you some tips about where to start when doing your own repairs. Here are the first few things you can do to check and fix your furnace at home:

  1. Check the pilot light. If the pilot light is out, and you are qualified, you should check for gas leakage and then for blockages in the opening or valve. If you are unsure or encounter any problems, call us, and we'll be glad to help.
  2. Check the thermocouple (gas furnaces only). If you’re qualified, just tighten the thermocouple nut. The pilot light should stay lit after this.
  3. Check the thermostat and fuses. You can find replacement thermostats, circuit breakers, and fuses at a local hardware store.
  4. Check the filters. Change your furnace's filters regularly (or clean them, if you have permanent filters) to prevent further problems and to clear out the grime that may be causing your furnace to malfunction.

If none of these work, you may need a more in-depth repair. For furnace repair in Calgary, we'd be happy to come take a look—just give us a call!
